Charge voltage setting MPPT 450/100 running ESS

Hello, I have been having issues with the voltage settings on the MPPT 450/100 running ESS. Switched from VE Can to VE direct ....

Turned on DVCC to a setting of 47.70V .


However the MPPT shows 48.40 charge voltage but no clue where he gets it from

at the victron connect App the voltage settings are set to 48V

So where does the system get the 48.40V from ?

It would seem that the 0.4v higher offset on the mppt comes from The ESS Keep batteries charged mode ?

CCGX manual.

Is the battery a smart one? If so then the battery is controlling its voltages

That being said it may be worth checking it against a good meter.

It is controlled only via voltage. The bms does not communicate with the system.

The next step will be to verify the readings then.

The second thing to check will be if the bms is doing its job in balancing cells. If it is still drawing current and not keeping up with that side then the bank voltage will rise up and overshoot a bit.

What batteries do you have / bms?

It is a JK BMS. Batteries pretty balanced. The quattro charges up to 48V as configured. The MPPT keeps pumping in voltage to 48.40V ignoring DVCC settings

Have you verified with a multimeter at the mppt terminals? And the voltage at the battery.

Sometimes the mppt 'reads' a little higher, possible because of an interaction between the panels input and the battery terminals.

The other thing you can do to improve the accuracy of the charging is adding a bmv to the system so the whole system uses one point for measurement.

Using already a bmv700 for the readings. The 48.40V is set by the system no idea why

So some clarification is needed here. Is the bmv also showing the target voltage? Or is the whole battery bank rising above target voltage?

The mppt could be compensating for voltage drop over cabling. Just a theory. And why I am asking what is the actual reading at the battery and actual reading verified by another source at the mppt.

If the mppt were to charge to only the target voltage and your cables have voltage drop over them, then in theory would be undercharging. (Not a desired result) So verify if the bank is at target or not. It will then not matter what the mppt is reading as the battery is being charged correctly.

The BMV is reading also 48.30-48.40V. The mppt should have backflow protection?

Wurde dieses Problem gelöst?

Ich habe das gleiche Problem, von wo nimmt er die Zielspannung her?

Ich habe auch einen BMV700 und am Cerbo wurde unter DVCC eine Spannung eingestellt, aber der MPPT 450/100 fährt darüber.

Ich stecke dann jedes Mal das Ve.Direct ab, dann nimmt er die Spannung her, die ich ihm eingestellt habe?

Was ist da noch zu korrigieren?
