Howto wire Smart Shunt VBatt+ and Aux

Hi everybody

I have installed a SmartShunt on my Sailboot. Normally every load is behind the main switches of the service and engine batterys. should I connect the VBatt+ und Aux directly to the batterys or can I connect them to the output of the correspondent main switch?

Thank you in advance

Sven

Id advise to put it as close to the batteries as possible, to get a true reading of the batterie voltage with as few voltage drop under load as possible.

Hi Erik,

the main switches are close to the batterys. Is there any disadvantage if I switch the SmartShunt on and of with the main switch or should it stay on (VBatt+ is connected directly to the service battery)?
