Temp Sensor BMV-702 connection

ass000001000.jpgHello all, I have recently purchased the temp sensor cable for the BMV-702 (the cable without the fuse). As I understand it, I have to disconnect the current power cable and replace it with the Victron cable. Connector to positive of battery bank, red and black cables to shunt (red to power the BMV and black for temp values). Which I do and I get nothing, not even power to the BMV screen. How can I ascertain that I have a faulty Victron cable? Or Am I doing something wrong?

Oh dear, you have purchased the wrong sensor.

This sensor is what is required. As per BMV guide.
