Can I connect BMV712 VE.Direct port directly to Rpi GPIO?

Hello everyone,

I have plan to use raspberry pi to monitor my batteries through BMV712.

I would like to use a python code to monitor the bmv outputs instead of having victron OS on my raspberry pi. I need my raspberry pi for other purposes as well.

I was wondering if I can connect VE.Direct port to GPIO directly.

If I can, would you able please to guide me for its pin-out?

Thanks in advance,

Milad

It should be possible, you just need to figure out how to configure the UART port for the gpio pins.. I would suggest to use a USB-UART adapter, preferably with some isolation. Or even better, use the Victron USB-VE.Direct cable.
