VE.Direct Bluetooth Smart Dongle

Can I use Ve.Direct Bluetooth Smart Dongle with Multiplus Inverter/Charger VN-MP-24 5000-120 wthout any shunts or other inerfaces connected.

I believe that for that inverter you will require a VE.Bus Smart Dongle not the VE.Direct unit.

That will allow you to connect your phone or tablet to the multiplus.

If you want to connect your laptop you will either need a MK3 Adapter or a cerbo/venus device.

So I have a need to set up the inverter for solar off grid including using the battery charger connected to a generator as a backup. Therefore need to alter the charger settings with regard to the battery manufacturers requirements. I am understanding I can do this with MK3 Adaptor connected to my windows laptop. I further understand I can do this with Victron Connect software. Is this correct? Appreciate your help.
