System voltage 24 V or 48 V?

Hi everyone,

I have a photovoltaic field of 5000 Wc. The system voltage is 24 V, It is possible to use an inverter Quattro 24V/5000VA with 2 charge controllers 85A/150V to charge 24 batteries of 150 Ah ?

Each charge controller will make ~2KW on a 24V system. So you can take 4KW from your array.
A 48V system would be able to cope with double the power, but your battery and Quattro are 24V so you need to stick with 24V system Voltage.

There is a good writeup here and within is a link to MPPT-calc spreadsheet which helps you to design your array accordingly.
Just be sure not to exceed 150V Maximum on those MPPT controllers that you have.

If you don't have an inverter yet, think about changing your system to 48V.

Then your MPPTs will handle the whole array with some change, and your cabling will be a lot cheaper.
