Can I control multiple networked MPPTs using a single VE.direct on-off cable

I have a bank of 8 networked smart solar 75/15 that I need to remotely disable from my third party BMS via a VE.direct non-inverting on/off cable (ASS030550310).

My question is: am I going to need 8 cables or will 1 be enough given the MPPTs are networked?

Up to 8 attachments (including images) can be used with a maximum of 190.8 MiB each and 286.6 MiB total.

Hi @CaptainVenilia, you'll need 8 indeed. On/off feature is not part of the networking.

Thank you @mvader (Victron Energy).

If I may ask a follow up question:
I read in this document that to remotely switch an MMPT off, I only need connect the rx pin (2) of the ve.direct port to ground (in combination with the correct setup in the app). Therefore, I am a little confused about the purpose of the ASS030550310. My BMS can do the connection directly without using the specialised cable... or am I missing something?

Hi Paul, that cable translates the signal from devices as listed in the manual of that cable to the (voltage) levels required for the MPPT. https://docs.victronenergy.com/ve.direct-non-inverting-remote-on-off-cable.html .

The circuitry for that is whats in the black overmoulded part in the cable.

If you don't need that, yes then there is no need for the cable at all. Connectors are from a brand called JST. I thought we had the specifics documented somewhere, but I can't find that just now.

you're welcome!
