Load output Lithium

Hi

Ive recently had a MPPT 100/20 controller fitted to my camper van that charges the lead acids leisure batteries onboard which is all good

I have a need to charge lithium batteries for my outboards ffishing these are 50AH

I’ve been discussing this and is it possible to connect these directly to the load output or do I need another device inline ?

many help advice appreciated

The load output from the MPPT will be at battery voltage and does not have a battery charging algorithm to limit charging. It's likely the voltage will not be high enough to fully charge your lithium batteries.

You'd be better off using a DC-DC charger like the Victron Orion-Tr 12/12-9. These are designed to take a wide input voltage range and output a controlled charge profile for the battery.
