Using diode in order to NOT backfeed BP-220?

I am trying to find a work-around from pulling a 25' run of cable through a maze. I need to connect my RV engine alternator to my coach batteries. I can make a 2 feet connection from the coach ignition energized relay if I can safely employ a 60 amp diode as shown in drawing. Any reason why this wouldn't work?

Hi. That’s not really the purpose of the battery protect.

Either split the charge with a cyrix bar relay. Or use an Argo FET splitter.

Ps diodes aren’t great to use due to the resistance across them causes a loss of voltage.

The battery protect should be used to cut the dc loads to prevent a bank being discharged below a pre defined level.
