I have a European 230V boat that is now in America. All my systems will run on 50 or 60HZ so that isn't an issue. I just need the easiest and most cost effective way to convert the dock voltage from 110v to 230v. Do I use the isolation transformer or the auto transformer?
Surely someone can offer advice here???
My plan is to install a universal (110v / 240v) mains charger. This would charge the batteries and provide a supply for the Multiplus. Only issue is that Victron at present does not have a universal mains charger that works well with Lithium or is small or is large enough current. There is the Skylla-IP44, but the maximum is 30A@24v; Phoenix Charger maximum is 25A@24v; Skylla has high charge current, but is designed for 230/240; Centaur Charger is universal and can do 60A@24v but is not suited to Lithium and is old.
This solution dose not need an isolation transformer, which is heavy.

There are some work arounds as there is 240v supply in US but it is wired differently.
the autotransformer will work. Cost effective choice you will have to make for yourself.
There are many resources already on the community about the 120v 240v conversion, wiring and other help.
The isolation transformer is designed for galvanic corrosion and will select it's out put voltage based on its input voltage, if I understand correctly from the attached datasheet.

So not suitable for your application in choosing to convert the 120v to the 240v
