when you go into expert mode in v1.46 , and set the maximum absorbtion time it makes no difference e.g set to one hour it still runs absorbtion for 2 + hours . next time you log into the MPPt you have to turn on expert mode again , so it looks like any changes just don't get saved.
@iolaire First things is always to see if there is a new firmware and upgrade to it. The latest is 1.49. Also, sometimes a full reset sorts things out. What is your system setup? Is the MPPT under external bms control etc. etc.
The set up is quite simple , two mppt chargers with arrays, charging a bank of 48 V . No extermal controllers . Both MPPTs do the same.. I was hoping just to lodge a 'bug report ' is there a page for that ?
There is only a modifications page. You will however be advised to upgrade to 1.49 as that is the current version and if the bug bug persists, then the good Victron guys will definitely pick up on it here. Do you have some screenshots of e.g. the history on the app to show this is the case?
Similar issue with Orion Smart dcdc 12/12-30 isolated charger running latest firmware (1.06 on charger and 1.59 in MPPT). One can set a max absorption time of 15m in the battery config but not in the charger (min 1 hour... not tested how long it actually stays in this mode). Also expert mode does not stay persistant if one exits and re loads even after a save of config.
Another minor "bug" is that you can set offset to 0.01v resolution in charger config ( and MPPT) but only 0.1v in battery setup
Hopefully it raises a bug flag and will be sorted in update.
