Charge impossible avec l'assistant ESS installé

Bonjour,

Alexis

Hello,

I recently installed a MultiPlus 2 5000/48 V470, CCGX v2.52, MPPT 250/60, BMV 712 system,

when the MultiPlus 2 is configured with an ESS 0176 assistant, it refuses to charge the Lifepo4 batteries via the mains, it indicates Direct Capacity.

By removing the ESS wizard from the configuration, the Multiplus charges normally, but deactivates the charging of the MPPT.

If I try to activate an equalization charge the CCGX sends me a message "Charger not ready: legalization cannot be started"

ESS assistant is configured to work with a BMS CAN, but obviously the problem does not come from here, because I have made a configuration of the ESS assistant in lead battery and the result is similar the MultiPlus does not want to charge.

Do you have any idea where the problem is coming from?

Should I try with an older version of the ESS wizard?

Thanks for your help.

Alexis

Bonjour,

Hello,

I found where the blockage was coming from.

I removed the external current probe from the MultiPlus 2 and after a restart the latter worked as expected.

I did not see indicate in the Victron doc that the external probe did not work with the ESS assistant.

My current probe may be defective,

Small question related to the current sensors, in another installation I had installed an ET112 meter on the CCGX, it still appears in the "energy meter" tab.

Is there a way to remove it?

With the ESS assistant installed in the Multi the default ESS battery mode in the CCGX is "Optimized (with BatteryLife)".
So the system tries to charge the batteries only from solar.
If you want to charge the batteries from grid, you have to select "keep batteries charged".

Thank you for your prompt response,

BatteryLife is not activated and I also tried to force the charge, but the MultiPlus remains in direct capacity.

FYI, I have already made two other installations with a MultiPlus 24 V and a compact MultiPlus with an ESS configuration.

Je ne parle pas français. ;)

Not sure what "direct capacity" should be?! Maybe "pass-through "?
Can you give us some screenshots of the ESS settings (Multi and CCGX)?
(in English please :) )

What batteries do you use?
What happens when you change the mode to "Keep batteries charged" (CCGX - ESS)

I use Valence lithium batteries, with a BMS CAN.

Put the problem does not come from there, because I did a programming of the ESS assistant with AGM batteries. Test result the MultiPlus still did not charge.

The MultiPlus does not charge when the "Keep batteries charged" function is activated.

I did some tests by downgrading the version of the ESS assistant to 0175 and 0174, but the Multiplus still does not want to load.
