Adding Wind Turbine to Victron MPPT Controller.

I am adding this as an observation for Wind enthusiast. BE-WIND has been developing and working with multiple Victron Controllers to help us support our Turbines, So that we can offer the same Monitoring and visual control as Solar systems. There are several observations we would like to share. Please note that our technology does not use Dump-loads, because we regulate the over speed in the Blade design and never have used dump-loads in our technology.

1) The first observation we resolved was adding a Capacitor bank to our controller to smooth the DC wave so that the controller has a much more regulated DC input. This also helps with the spikes that occur in gusty higher wind days. Other options are Voltage regulators to limit the extreme spikes on larger Turbines output.

2) When combining solar panels , we realized that it is important to make sure the Solar panels are matched with higher voltages so that the DC does not always fall to the lowest common denominator. If possible put the Solar panels in Series to allow for voltages as high as 150 VDC or more depending on your wind generator power output. . If using the Victron 150/250 MPPT charge controller. Our technology uses 110 Volt VAC generators x 2 , which we can place in parallel or in series to increase voltages in lower wind conditions.

We are not electrical engineers and are continuing to test other ideas such as frequency smoother and combiners. Looking into resistors as well.

We are open to share our designs as well and hope that others can help with input , so that we can test and try more reliable methods of using the Victron complete systems to support

Wind and Solar growth.

please reach out any time.
