Which Cerbo GX?

I'm designing a 48 volt system for my trailer that will have the following Victron components:

  • SmartSolar MPPT 150/35
  • Lynx Shunt VE.Can
  • Lynx Distributor M8
  • Lynx Power In M8
  • GX Touch 50
  • Orion Tr 48/12-30
  • Orion XS 12/12-50 (charge secondary 12 volt battery with ~5 amps)
  • Multiplus II 48/3000-35
  • Battery Switch 275a
  • Battery Protect 48v - 100 amp

I'll be using a JK Inverter BMS and 430 watt panels in a 2s2p configuration.

When I created my current Victron 12 volt system I don't think there were multiple Cerbo GX part numbers. I'm pretty sure I don't want the Cerbo-S GX. But I don't understand the difference between the other two models (BPP900450100 versus BPP900450110 + BPP900451100) other than what I see in the data sheet. The BPP900450100 is the older model? The BPP900450110 + BPP900451100 are the MK2 models. So what is the difference between the two MK2 part numbers?

Answering my own question. Another thread was started (that I found after I posted this thread even though I searched) that lead me to the Victron GX product range webpage. Footnote 26 has the following:

Identification: BPP900450100 is the first generation Cerbo GX. And both BPP900450110 and BPP900451100 are the Cerbo GX MK2. The latter two are completely identical, the only difference is country of origin, India versus Malaysia.

So the two MK2 part numbers are the same. A quick Internet search leads me to believe that BPP900451100 is more readily available on more sites.

@Jim

The other difference is the cerbo s does not have the ability to have two different can bus speeds.

And the physical orientation of plugs was changed for easier access and can isolation. Otherwise function and firmware is the same.

It doesn't matter for alot of installs but some where the mppts are can connected then a bms is connected the two different speeds needed creates an issue.

In your install with the lynx shunt there shouldn't be an issue.
