Does Victron 2000/80 multiplus need an in-line fuse to battery

Looking inside the unit there is a fuse on the power connection. In the manual there is no mention of needing the 300 amp fuse. However if you look at the manual online it says you need a 300 amp fuse. I am assuming I have a newer model that now has an internal fuse and the manual online is outdated. Does anyone know If I need to put a fuse in the power line to the battery?

Yes, you should have a fuse close to the battery. This fuse will protect the wiring beyond the battery.

The size of the fuse depends on your system configuration wiring. There is some good information about selecting appropriate wiring and fusing in the newly released Wiring Unlimited. in Section 4, "DC Wiring" starting page 23.
