Can bus information

There is a very clever alternator controller called a WS500 made by Wakespeed it communicates via CAN bus. It is great for my case where I have 2 installed so they share data about status etc. what I’d like to know if I was to plug into the CAN bus connector on a Colour controller is it likely that I would get any useful information displayed? I have sent a similar question to Wakespeed.

It is unlikely that you will see any information at all. This is because the WS500 will not be recognised and the CCGX will not know how to present the data.
You could think of it as software drivers, without the driver the device does not work.
