Smartshunt connection for 2 batteries with separate charging circuits

Hello,

My Boat has a 2 battery configuration. The battery charger has 2 separate charging circuits, one for each battery. Positive(+)1 from the charger goes to Positive in Battery 1. Positive(+)2 from the charger goes to Positive in Battery 2. The negative terminals from the batteries, the charger and the boat loads are all connected. What would be the best connection configuration to be able to monitor both batteries individually?

Thanks!

Andres

In this case you need 1 connection from the negative bus bar to the system side of the shunt which is then connected to the battery. You do this for both batteries. There should be no other connections to the batteries, only the shunts. See rough sketch.
