Battery Protect Failure

If a Victron Battery Protect fails does it fail to short circuit or open circuit?

There would be no cut and dried answer here, as I will depend on why it failed. more than likley it will fail open circuit, But again this is not a promise.

I just had one fail from a lightning strike type of event with a short circuit.
