feature request: ""Repeated absorption interval"" for Orion SMART

As example:

If there is 24V and a 12V bank. 12V bank is charged, with a Orion smart, used for navigation etc.

What Is missing in the Orion smart settings, is a recharge setting like available in the Multi's.

Would be nice to have ""repeated absorption interval"" in the charge [profile from a Orion. Without this function, the 12V bank will be charged, goes to float and stays there forever!! The 12V bank, will never get a proper charge again, to stay alive, or to balance!!

Or are there other solutions to keep the 12V battery healthy?

Why a multi has this setting, and the Smart Orion?

All this devices charge batteries, and we like to thread this batteries with the best charge profile.

The multi is usually permanently powered and needs it.

Orions usually switch on and off, restarting the charge cycle every time they're switched on.

You 24V source will go through charge/discharge cycles. Try using the engine detect settings in the Orion to detect when the 24V battery is being charged. This should work as a work around. But might not suit if the 24V battery is also in permanent float.

This Orion-smart is always on, same as a multi.

It is charging a 12V battery bank (for navigation etc) from a 24V bank.

I like your idea to use " engine detect" settings, but thinking about this, this will also not work.

As example, If the 24V bank is not fully charge for a couple off days, or longer, the 12V battery will have not any recharge.

Any ideas, or other product that could fixed this issue are welcome.

You will know your battery sizes/loads.

The Orion engine detection is adjustable. In between 24V charges it will turn off, then whe the 24V voltage rises it will switch on. May work.
