EVCS - mysterious behaviors - v1.26 bug report?

hi there,

I'm facing some weird behaviour with an EV charging station and I hope to find a solution with your expertise.

First things first:

- Firmware v1.26

- all settings set to the defaults since it claims 'no support if modified'

- mode 'auto'

- Battery/grid power timeout (modbus register 5103) set to 30 min

- Allow battery/grid power for auto mode set to 1 - enabled

Problem 1:

[x: time | y: power in kW]

After 30 minutes of charging with major energy from battery, charging is stopped but immediately restarted. Seems to go on until the car rejects because of too many restarts or PV power is very low.

Problem 2:

[x: time | y: power in kW]

The only way is up. Charging power is beeing increased to the max possible (in my case 7.4 kW limited by the car) but never decreased. There are days when it's working just fine also with decreasing charging power when the PV power decreases. I can't find any pattern. At 10:08 I stopped manually.

Is this related to a bug or am I the problem, any thoughts?

Thanks! Simon

Problem 3:

Charging starts even if there's not enough power from PV. So from the first moment, charging is mainly powered from battery. Toghether with Problem 1, the battery would be totally drained if not stopped manually. Is there no hysteresis, that should stop that behaviour?

Problem 4:

[x: time | y: power in kW]

Energy is beeing charged into the vehicle but uncouted. From 10:10 to 10:50 about 500W are being charged into the car without beeing measured by the EVCS. It displays just 10 to 50 W. Status is 'charging' until I stop manually at 10:50 to make it 'waiting for start'.

Does nobody else have those problems? Anybody with an idea?

Is there another way to report bugs besides the forum? Maybe on github?

@Lucian Popescu (Victron Energy Staff), as you are active regarding answering EVCS related stuff, maybe you could address this to someone who feels responsible?

Today I have reset the EVCS. Problem 3 has already come up.
