Why does a reboot of CerboGX via ssh deletes the root password?

Because of https://community.victronenergy.com/questions/231973/cerbox-gx-fails-with-v30-and-em540.html I tried to reboot CerboGX via SSH:


root@einstein:~# reboot

Broadcast message from root@einstein (pts/0) (Mon Sep 18 06:45:28 2023):

The system is going down for reboot NOW!

root@einstein:~#


After "reboot" the password for root was gone! Rrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr

I had to set a new passwort in Cerbo Settings/General!

Hello

As a workaround, you can add a key-based authentication in venus ssh once logged. After reboot, the authorized key is not lost.
