Inhibit Cyrix operation by interrupting 86 (GND) with a switch?

Can I use a switch in the ground line (86) of the Cyrix-ct to inhibit operation?

This would be a significantly less bulky switch compared to a battery separator.


Or would this somehow invite undefined operation?
