Solar and Generator Simultaneous charging

Hi guys. Could not find this exact question for some reason. I have a CCGX, 3 x 250/100 MPPT's and 2 x Quattro 10's. Whenever battery percentage drops too low we have the generator start up to carry load and charge batteries with the excess power. When setting charge current limit on the CCGX it only limits the charging from the MPPT's, however with overcast conditions, it might happen that the batteries run low, starts the generator, but then when the sun starts to come through before condition is reached, it wants to charge with both sources together, how does one prevent or limit this to prevent a too high current? thanks

Hi Stefan; for exactly this we have the Charge current limit setting on the CCGX. See here in the manual for firmware requirements and explanation:

https://www.victronenergy.com/live/ccgx:start#generic_features

"A user-configurable maximum charge current setting. It works across the whole system. MPPTs are automatically prioritized over the mains/generator. In case a CANBUS-BMS is connected and the BMS requests a maximum charge current that is different from the user-configurable setting, the lower of the two will be used. This setting is available in the “Settings → “System Setup” menu on the Venus-device.".
