AES timer function not working on Smartsolar 75/15

Help!

I have multiple Victron devices on board our sailboat. They work great, but I have a problem.

I control 3, smartsolar MPPTs and a SmartShunt through Victron Connect.

I’m setting the load on one MPPT using the AES setting to turn on our hot water heater after the batteries are charged.

I can turn on and off the load using the voltage settings, but the time duration setting doesn’t seem to work. The load will turn on, but not turn off after the set time has passed.

Does anyone have any suggestions?

From the manual:

Automatic Energy Selector:

OFF when Vbatt < Vlow. And ON when Vbatt > Vhigh.

When conditions are met Load will be on for a pre-selected time.

Hi @helmsmatt

The time duration starts the moment that the ON condition is no longer met. So while the ON condition is true, the load output will stay on. When it drops below the ON condition, the pre-selected time starts. When either the pre-selected time has past or the OFF condition is met, the MPPT will turn off the load output.

I can imagine that this is not clear from the manual. We will look into that.

Kind regards,
