Mk3usb with Android

Wanting to use MK3 interface with Android instead of laptop. Do I need an otg cable, or can I use the phone's charging cable, connecting the male usb to the MK3's male usb with a female-to-female usb adapter?

You will need an OTG cable/adaptor to whatever usb your phone has.

The option you are proposing needs your phone to be able to recognise if it is a host or not, and not all phones can do that.

I use mine for basic programming with the oth all the time.

@Darlene

The other issue is that phone charging cables usually only have the charging connections wired.
