SOC V485 to V502

2023-02-19-14-27-00-maison-monteils-vrm-portal-max.pngMultiplus II GX V485 to V502

Hello, I updated my multiplus II GX

to solve a problem (sometimes its display freezes)

but since I have an astonishing behavior of the management of the SOC!

previously the SOC went to the value set in the "parameter at the end of the bulk phase" when the absorption voltage was reached

Now the coulter passes the value set to the "end of bulk phase parameter" when the float voltage is reached

what do you think of its new functioning

is this normal or an update bug?

I hear tomorrow while charging to check

Install a SmartShunt and you will have a way more accurate SOC measurement.

Hello Matthias

I followed your advice, I added a smartshunt to my installation, it works!!

THANKS

Thank you, Matthias I'm thinking about it, it would improve that's for sure.

but I like to understand, and I can't understand the change in behavior of the SOC calculated by the Multiplus am at the firmware update, I think it comes from the update of the vbus bms

there must be a new setting

but I confess I have not found!

Charge up the bank to 100% and keep it there for a while, it is possible that it has lost sync. Looking at your battery curve it has not made it there.

I have found when using the internal monitor for SOC the 100% charge is important daily.

The shunt would be better if you don't have batteries with comms to the GX.

The ve bus bms thing would only have affected you if you have victron batteries.

Good morning,

after a programmed charge this morning

normal functioning and income

the end of charge state changes to 84% when the programmed absorption voltage of 55.2 is reached!

there is something that does not work for me with the new firmware, please help me

@jolilo It looks like you also have solar charging your batts?

Please show a screenshot of the "General settings" tab from VE Configure.

there you go, Klim.2023-02-28-08-07-35-soc-v485-to-v502-victron-commu.png

@jolilo When my Li batts end bulk charge, they are better than 98% Soc.

Charge efficiency would be 99%.

Do you use solar mppt to also charge your batts?

2023-02-28-11-47-01-bmsmonitor-v217beta2.pngI deliberately limited the absorption voltage to 55.2 volts, to avoid BMS triggering on high voltage, lower charge intensity, more efficient 1A battery balancer

yes I have a smartSolar MPPT le 150/60

@jolilo

You are complaining that the system stops charging before full, at 55.2v, but you told the system to do that in DVCC.

If it is tripping then lower the charged voltages absorption etc in the charger tab. It can only be full soc when it reaches the programmed target voltages.

No Alexandra

the language barrier distorts my words

no limitation in DVCC I do not ask to stop charging.

I remain adsorbed at 55.2v as shown in the VE charge screen view

I simply fill up with SOC which freezes as shown in the view at 5:01 despite the load and passes the SOC at the end of the buk phase, at the float voltage.

all this following the change of firmware version without any change of parameters

img-20230227-083241.jpghello alexandra.

I made a first downgrade from V502 to V498

we see on the load scheduler at 5:00 the frozen SOC!

I redid at 10:00 am a downgrade from V498 to V488

on the modification history it is before the implementation of the vbus bms

but not seen to check because it is snowing in the south of France

the next sunny day I will check my track.

Another track is the version jump from v485 to v502 not too important?

Cordially.

@jolilo

The newwr firmwares between 498 and 502 are grid code changes... None related to france. And one for better generator integrations and some stuff for quattros.

In your case if it was working and doing what you needed to, it makes no sense to update.

It looks like your batteries are not finishing charging. The amp draw is quite high and remains high the whole time.

You need to leave them on charge for longer or give them a higher charge current during your charge window. Do this untill they stop taking in the amps.
