Easysolar 2 gx max PV limited by battery

Hi,

I have an issue with my support team who is not able to explain me my PV production limitation

I compare 2 installations:

Mine: Easysolar 2GX 48/3000 with 4.5KW panels (seems oversized) and one PYLONTECH US3000C with 2 strings 2.25kW

Other: the same angle and in 300 meters distance (FRONIUS 4000 with 4.2KW panels)

In picks, these days - Fronius in picks produces 2 much current PV up to 3000Wp. Mine goes up to 1600Wp. The support team indicates that this is caused by the fact that I have one battery 37A*48V = 1776W, so this is max.

My understanding is that the max should be limited by 2400W. However in the moments when battery is not charged fully, I would expect max PV 2400W + 1776W (battery load).

PLease also explain if the max 5000W picks is observable at all. My understanding is that the system can work with load up to 5000W in picks but it would not be efficient.

Looking for real support here as I feel that my support team can't explain me what happened. From my perspective I suspect that 1 of the 2 strings is not connected and this is causing an issue

Thank you,

Andrzej

@AndyPol

Is your DC-coupled MPPT allowed to feed in the grid?

I am connected to GRID and I feed

I just found in another topic that my MPPT could be limited to 35A, same like charger and I need to check. Can you indicated if I can have MPPT set to 70A while charger to 35A and this would be safe for the battery

@AndyPol

Your battery can safely be charged at max 37A

@AndyPol

Can you show your "grid feed-in" settings?

Your battery can take max charge current of 37A x 48V but the rest should be fed to the AC side of your inverter if "DC grid feed-in" is selected.

I understand battery limitation. However I have question about MPPT and Charger

Can I have MPPT at 70 while Charger at 35A and I will have no issue with battery. How those 2 settings correspond and how I should understand them. Sorry If this is silly question

With a CAN connected battery, the BMS sets the limit and DVCC controls all charge sources (solar has priority) to remain within the limits set by the battery. The manually set limits are for the situation where the GX is unavailable.

@AndyPol

Your battery is connected to GX with CAN signals.

Battery's BMS is limiting the charge current.

With only one US3000 box that limit is 37A.

Is there any way that my DC output is split to inverter and grid feed in without additional battery or the only option is to buy additional battery to have in total 70A and then I will have no limit. Let me know

When battery is charged at max current is there any grid feeding from MPPT?

Does your PV strings have separate fuses?

When the battery is fully charged then I have GRID backward feeding.

The problem is that I have really small production from the PV in comparison to another PV (FRONIUS one) that is feeding the GRID only and getting for some internal consumption

My installation 4.5KW with 2 strings EASYSOLAR 2GX 48/3000/35 with one PYLONTECH US3000C

The other installation Fronius with 4.2KW the same SUN angle no shadows. FRONIUS is one string

Today, I have situation that I produce half of the FRONIUS. Picks on PV production on fronius are up to 3200Wp. ON my side it is max: 1783. I have no idea whether it is wrong string setup or it is just settings is EASYSOLAR.

Please let me know which settings I should share with you to make verification of this. If there is anybody available I could make on-line session just to go through all the details

I am really skeptical on the service provider who is not able to answer.

Please correct me if I am wrong. I should be able to produce in picks over 2400Wp to GRID or this is fully limited to this amount.

I am comparing it with output of closely located - 500m, 4.2KW with same sun angle.

Output comparison from 2 days ago

Corresponding installation output

Main differences PV picks are much bigger.

From my service provider I am getting feedback that I have to buy another PYLONTECH US3000C so 2 of them should give me max output 52.5*70 = 3650 Wp. PLease indicate as well what it is max PV output - from the spreadsheet I see 4000 Wp - is it battery dependable?

Let me know whether this is reasonable or this is some misunderstanding. I saw that the MPPT output I can have higher A and the Battery charger can be controlled independently
