powering up easy solar

Hi I have recently purchased an easy solar 48v 5 kva , it has I think been dropped in transit. Should it power up without battery pack, and only ac in connected, or does it have to have battery pack? No leds or display when only ac in connected any help be appreciated cheers matt

It will definitely not power up without a battery connected
