Hi community,
is it possible to use a Lynx Ion BMS 400 with "non Victron" batteries?
Or is its functionality totally depending on connecting Victron Smart batteries to the device?

No, that's not possible. To function properly, it requires one or more Victron Lithium-Ion LFP, NMC or HE battery modules plus CAN-bus connection between the BMS and the battery.
