BMV-712 average discharge and cycles

db6d838d-f165-418e-bc1f-34ea4de5c62b.pngI bought a BMV-712 about 10 month’s ago. My battery bank is 400 Ah. My typical discharge per day is 80% during night and a following full charge the next day. My lowest discharge to date is 120 Ah and the BMV has executed 28 synchronizations. My question is. Why has my instrument recorded any average discharge and no charge cycles?

Charge cycle is that weird grey area for batteries.

What would you class as a charge cycle? A discharge past 50%. Or 65%?

In that case your 120A out of 400A battery bank at 12v has not happened as yet.

If you class a charge cycle as anytime you discharged then went into bulk and absorption than that is different.

The bmv manual states it is at 65% dod it will count a cycle. See this post.

Without being able to set depth of discharge parameters, I don't think this has much meaning, at least for Lead Acid cells. This is probably targeted more at Lithium chemistries.
