Synchronized charging between MPPT / Multiplus-II / Orion

Hi,

I have two MPPT chargers that are networked with a smart shunt, they charge in sync just fine.

How does a Multiplus and / or Orion factor in if AC / alternator is available?

Will they not attempt to charge if solar is available? Can solar be forced to be priority?

Thank you.

Orion Smart is not compatible with sync charging:

The only thing that can sync charge are your two MPPTs in a VE.Smart network.

The Cerbo with DVCC enabled can be used to set a maximum charge current that is respected by all GX devices, e.g., if you set DVCC charge limit to 30A, the sum of the two MPPT, the MP-II and the Orion would never exceed 30A, but it would not restrict any of them from providing more current if needed for loads.

You'll want to connect the smartshunt to the GX via VE.Direct and enable SVS and SCS under DVCC so the smart shunt shares its voltage and current sensing to all GX connected devices. Additionally, you may want to consider getting the temperature sensor for the smartshunt and share enable STS for shared temperature data as well.
