Hi

I'm afraid you question is a bit unclear.
What software are you trying to install?
Which product are you trying to connect to? Is it CCGX or is it MultiPlus / Quattro?

Sorry for being unclear. This is for an Easy solar 48V/3000 VA.

Hi Noel1968,

For now, the MK3 is for connection a Victron Multiplus (or other VE.bus unit) to VEConfigure. You can then use that to configure battery charging settings, etc.

The MK3 is not for connecting the CCGX to a laptop. The CCGX needs to be connected to a local network, and internet connection.

The following manuals will be helpful to understand:

https://www.victronenergy.com/accessories/interface-mk3-usb

What are you trying to do?

Hi Guy Steward,

I am a bit confused.

I have a wireless cable modem router for my home internet. The Easy plus solar 3000VA/48 is situated a fair distance and cannot be connect through a cable due to the distance. I tried a nano usb wireless but looks like the CCgx did not recognise the device.

I am from India and the products you mentioned are not in stock nor your India Victron dealers have them.

Any other options

Thanks

Hi Noel. Given you have a router, and want access via laptop, then ethernet protocol is your likely best means. Take a look here (section 1.6): https://www.victronenergy.com/live/ccgx:start#internet_connectivity Some of the options like gsm and phone access may not be applicable.

You can't do cable you say, the 'fair distance' undefined so you may not want to risk one of the 4 supported wifi dongles. But there's still EoP (Ethernet over Power) if you have a power circuit between between both ends.

Web networking isn't Victron's calling, but any good computer shop should be able to set you right, even to extended wifi bridges or EoP.

Your first aim is to establish a link to your router and the GX allocated a lan address from there. Then you're away.
