SMA Inverters Missing In Device List

Hi

First Victron Installation and straight in at the deep end.

I have 6 SMA inverters all with static IP addresses. They all show up on the Cerbo GX and give production data. On the Cerbo I can see the VRM number for each. However 2 of the inverters do not show up in device list on VRM. I can see all of them in the advanced settings however the two I cannot see on device list only have 1 widget where as the others have 2. How can I resolve this? Also anyone able to help with getting information from the Cerbo over modbus?

Did you enable the modbus servers on all sunny boys? By default I think it is disabled.

You can enable it using Sunny Explorer.

If it is already enabled, also check the "Unit ID" is not set to the same value on multiple units.

Otherwise, maybe check if the firmware is up to date?

Hi Tim

Thanks for the reply. Yes have enabled Modbus TCP and UDP. By default they are turned off and not visible at all on the Cerbo until enabled. All 6 have the same unit ID of 3 which is default. Will try changing them to see if that makes a difference. The fact they all have a unique IP address I can't see that being an issue. Especially as the other 4 are all working fine. Will try changing the id to rule this out as well as toggling the modbus off and back on.

same with my installation only one widget an no yield at the SMA Inverter :-(

No I now have 2 widgets for all 6 inverters however 2 still don't show up in device list. The fact Victron don't offer technical support to installers is beyond me.

Hi Jack, I reported this issue to my "installer" he forwarded it to victron. I got no feedback on this issue, but since yesterday magically the second widget appeared and also the PV yield is showing the right data :-D
