Venus OS - FzSonick battery RS485-USB not working with FW 2.73

Hello,

Since the new update, the victron rs485/usb cable between BMS and cerbo gx doesn’t work anymore. In FW2.65 there is no problem, downgrading the Fw from 2,72 on a new device to 2.65 is possible, however then vrm portal id goes blank and the WiFi doesn’t work anymore.

Ethernet connection works,

connection to vrm not,

(new eeprom reading in 2.65 not possible?) the bms has a driver within the OS and works stable on all cerbo gx’s until now.

Updating to 2.73 resolved WiFi, vrm id
Usb/rs485 - BMS doesn’t work

Any solution?

Hi @apollo-technics

What are you connecting to the RS485 adapter? I can't think of a supported application for that with a BMS.

I ran a RS485-USB adapter to my energy meter in an ESS system with 2.73 without issues, so it might be the unsupported BMS?

Hello Guy,

all other cerbo gx's work with the fzsonick48tl driver.
only thing changed was the firmware.
@imac has the same problem after a firmware update.
going back to stable version 2.65 was the temp. fix.
now with the new cerbo devices this is no longer an option.
(you can also review his post that describes the code problem.)

UPDATE 2022-01-22: Fixed. Per v2.80; which is due for release any day now.

hi both, fyi the fix for this made it into v2.80. Please do test it. Currently available as a beta here: https://community.victronenergy.com/questions/117077/venus-os-v28041-available-for-testing.html..

And soon available as v2.80 official release.
