Use MPPT for another utility

Hello, I was wondering if it was possible to use an MPPT to convert a 48v battery to
12v. A simple DC-DC converter is not enough for me because it does not generate enough power for my use (500 / 600W) Thank you :)

Hi @mathew

It's probably possible, but an unsupported application.

A cheaper way would be to use a pair of Orion 48/12-30, giving you 720W. Even more if you wind up the V. :)

These are rock solid, no fuss devices. https://www.victronenergy.com/upload/documents/Datasheet-Orion-Tr-DC-DC-converters-isolated-100-250-400W-EN.pdf
