The BMV-712 Temperature Sensor Cable is too short. Is there a long cable (15 ft) available, or can it simply be extended by adding cable of a similar or larger gauge and still obtain reliable results?

These temperature sensors are simple resistance units, so extending the cable any reasonable amount is perfectly fine. Use minimum 18 AWG cable to ensure no extra resistance in the cable could affect the measurement.
