I had an issue with the DCDC charger, so I filled out the online form on the Victron support page, and it located the retail company and its details. I contacted them, but they said I need to have the original receipt as proof of purchase. However, the device was given to me, and I have no idea where to find it, for some reason.
Is there any other way to obtain warranty service? Please let me know if anyone else in this forum has encountered this situation. Thanks in advance.
You don't need to have the receipt. The warranty is bonded to the serial number not to the person who bought the unit.
The distributor should know that.
The charger was purchased from Jaycar in Australia, and when I contacted them to explain my situation, I was informed that I needed the receipt. Although I mentioned that I would contact Victron directly, I was told that nothing would change the situation. It appears they are not a distributor but simply a reseller.
