DC meter and temperature sensors in VRM

I'd like to add a smart shunt in DC meter mode as a alternator input into Venus OS.

I'd also like to add a temperature sensor and be able to view the data hopefully in Venus OS and VRM..can this be done?

What does the data look like and can I use the data for alarm purposes?

Here is a chart which describes the different sensors:

The temperature sensor for the SmartShunt is electrically conductive as it provides the positive power supply and voltage reading to the SmartShunt at the same time as measuring the battery lug temperature. This makes it difficult to use the temperature sensor for another measurement location.
