VE Net with wrong battery sense

Good morning,

what would happen if theres 2 batteries equipped with a battery sense each.

Then we have a Smart MPPT solar charge controller connected to 1 of the batteries.

What would happen if the Smart MPPT is linked to the wrong (disconnected) battery by accident while it charges the other battery?

Is there a plausibility check built into the Smart MPPT?

Thanks!

So the mppt is already charging one battery, them a second one is connected by accident while the system is live? Is that the scenario?

How would it be connected by a split charge system or someone hooking up wires while the system is live (not recommended).

You will likely have one battery drain into the other and the mppt will be trying to charge both.

What are you using the smart battery sense for in the system?

Hi Alexandra,

thank you for your reply. Let me make this more clear.

Battery 1: Vehicle Starter Battery, Smart Battery Monitor 1

Battery 2: Aux Battery, Smart Battery Monitor 2

Batteries are not electrically connected.

So what would happen if a SmartSolar MPPT would Charge Battety 2, but get the Values from the SBM if Battery 1?

Using bt ve smart network of volt and current sensing if so remove BMV Battery 1: from ve smart network look in BMV setup under ve smart network if you haven't set this up the bmv will not be sending the volt and current with mppt
