Venus GX offline. No router connection

Hello from South Africa,

I need your assistance please with connecting my Venus GX to my WiFi router.

  • I changed my router password. I can connect to WiFi via my cell and laptop with the new password.
  • I wanted to change the Venus password to connect to the router. I went to VRM, navigated to WiFi, disabled the connection thinking that I could just add it with the new password. Big mistake?
  • I now can’t see the Venus as a network to connect to.
  • In the Victron Connect app the Venus is shown as offline and theres no functionality to change the password.
  • I have tried Venus.local in my browser but get- not found.
  • I have manually reset the router and Venus. No change.
  • Venus does not list under my WiFi settings only the TP-Link router.
  • I also seem to have lost access to the toggle switches and VRM displays readings prior to the password change.

My user profile is set as read only.

Thanks for your support.

How can I reset the Venus password whilst I can’t connect to it? (The system is working well it’s just the monitoring that I need)

There is a small reset push button that can be used to reset network settings. See Section 9.3.2 in the manual below. This may help you.

Thank you. I eventually found the switch. On the left hand side a small insert. I used a small Allen Key to insert into the hole. Pushed down on the switch for about 4 seconds. I then repeated for a second time. The Venus then showed as a network connection which I selected from my laptop. In the browser a typed in Venus.local and managed to get to the control screens. Toggled down to WiFi and charged the password, connected to the router and all is now working.

Thanks again, much appreciated.
