Venus WiFi network toggled off by mistake

Hey all,

EasySolar=II GX 24/3000/70 unit here. I am doing a remote installation where I finally got Starlink access, so I was trying to join the device to the Venus WiFi hotspot, so I could browed to the Console (172.24.24.1) and as I got into the WiFi setings, the toggle for WiFi hotspot is very close for a finger on a phone, and I fumbled that instead of clicking WiFi networks… and now the Venus hotspot is gone…

Is there a way to get it back without a full reset of the EasySoler (small pin hole reset on next to Ethernet port). I do not have an ethernet cable here to plug into the Starlink router, and when I use the BMS cable to try and plug my laptop into the EasySolar ethernet port, I get a generic IP and soon the inverter stops inverting.

Anyway I can use the ethernet cable… do I need software for that. I just got a 169.X.X.X address, doesnt not seem to issue my laptop an IP so I can get back to the console. Damn.

Any ideas?

Best,
John

You should be able to connect to it with bluetooth on android or iphone/mac and connect it to WiFi that way.

Thanks, but does not seem to work. On Android with the VictronConnect app, only the SmartSolar module appears, and does not allow any access to the main CC settings from which I could enable WiFi… I am trying to get back to the Remote Console basically.

Push the reset button P underneath the unit.
This will reboot the GX. It should appear on BT, then you can connect it to the WiFi and have the remote console over lan again, where you can re enable the hotspot.

172.24.24.1 is the address for direct Venus to computer comms via lan.
(venus.local might also work)

You get a 169.X.X.X address when a DHCP server cannot be found.
Try give your laptop a fixed IP in the same range as the EasySolar.
Then go to 172.24.24.1 as mentioned by @water_rat.
