Multiplus II settings for Felicity LUX-E-48100LG04 (or similar)

Hi Oliver, thanks a lot for the quick reply. So the com box is not needed, that is good. I am using an USB-CAN-Adapter (DSD TECH SH-C30G) based on canable but the battery is not being autodetected yet. Can you please say on what SW version your BMS is running? Thanks a lot.

Jippie it works ! Today a second USB-CAN-Adapter (DSD TECH SH-C30G) arrived. I plugged one side of the cable (RJ45) into the PCS port of the battery. I connected the open ends CANL and CANH to the USB-CAN-Adapter and the USB Side into the RPI running Venus OS and the Battery was recogniced as Pylontech batterie. Oliver H thanks a lot for your valuable hints

Hi again,

glad to hear that it worked.
Just to add: The battery is pretty new. BMS version is V519.

And: In case anyone figures out, how to display more details from the BMS (incl cell voltages & temperatures) in Cerbo or VenusOS, pls share.
Alternatively: if anyone has the CAN protocol specification of the battery, that might be sufficient, too. In this case I could try to script a decoder myself.

cheers
oliver

Hi Angie,
I actually, started the thread with a different intention. Not for communication issues, but for the battery setting in Victron.
In the mean time I have received a pdf from your support colleague (Daniel-Lei) via e-mail. Am i allowed to share this here?
Thanks
oliver

Hi Oliver, well temperature is being shown but not for all four temperature sensors. But I guess that is not what you are after, right ? BTW I do have BMS version V519 too.

hello, sure you can share it here,We have no problem with that as long as it helps our customers. But please note that that document only applies to our low voltage batteries

if you use FelicityESS LV battery, you can refer to this file for setting
Felicityess with Victron Energy Inverter Setting.pdf (654.2 KB)

Hi, I’m not sure I understand your question correctly - I think this battery data is uploaded from the BMS to the inverter! :grinning:

Hi @Angie-Felicity

The questions were:
Is the battery BMS supplying this data about min/max cell voltages?
What about min/max cell temperatures?
Because if the BMS is not supplying this data, neither the Cerbo and later the inverter will receive it.

This data is broadcasted by the battery on CAN ID 0x373.
It’s not on the basic Pylontech protocol, but all recent firmwares from the Pylontech are broadcasting this information on 0x373.
Also, the cell ids for min/max voltages and temperatures are broadcasted on 0x374, 0x375, 0x376 and 0x377.
It will be a very nice thing for your engineers to implement it and keep up with the actual trend… Just a suggestion…

Yes, thanks. That the same document I’ve received. So, no need for me to post it again.

Nice table :slightly_smiling_face:
Maybe some add-on info: The batterie’s BMS makes individual cell voltages and readings from 4 temperature sensors (and maybe even individual cell temperatures - here I’m not sure) available via RS485 (dedicated RJ45 port). I can read it from there via a python script.
So, the information is definitely there.
It’s just the question if this is also sent via CAN (@Angie-Felicity: maybe you can help clarifying this).

hello, yes only use RS485 to communicate our battery with inverter, there will be info about MAX MIN cell voltage and temperature

So there is by no means a direct/default communication between battery’s BMS and Cerbo for the cells voltages.
Thanks!

Hi Angie, ist there a newer EDMS Tool (for windows) available for the BMS RS485 communication ?The one I downloaded from https://www.felicitysolarsa.co.za/battery-upgrade has no means to set the com port.
Thanks a lot.

sure, but i cannot upload the zip file here again, pls leave me your email i will send you via wetransfer

Hi Angie,
thank you very much but I do not find any possibilty to send you a private message with my email address. Can you maybe post just the link to the zip file here ?
Or shall I sent a mail to the general felicitysolar email adress in your profile ?

oh,sorry i forgot this point,you can send me message to whatsapp:+86 18022876286
or email:support@felicityess.com

Hi Angie, one week ago on the 13th I did send you a mail asking for the EDMS programm. Unfortunately you did not reply, yet.

Kind Regards, Jim

@Angie-Felicity. Sorry a little bit off topic, I would like to add a second or maybe third LUX-E-48100LG04 to my system. Is there any procedure/sequence to be followed how to do that ? Is there a timely limitation (age of battery) after how long a second or third batterie can still be added ? Thanks a lot.

Sorry, maybe there were too many emails or it went to spam, can you send it again? :smiling_face_with_tear:
