Bmv712 Low SOC relay

2 x 120ah lithium batts & enerdrive 40 amp dcdc charger. Having power issues. First query.

I currently have soc relay in the app set at 50%/90%.

Does this mean that battery will be disconnected when it drops to 50% charge and then allow power to be used when charge is back to 90%.
Maybe a dumb question buy so what, hey.

The BMV-712 is just a battery monitor with internal low power relay, so it can not directly disconnect the battery or high power loads. But yes, the SOC relay function in the VictronConnect app functions as you described, controlling the internal relay.

The BMV internal relay can be used as a logic driver to disconnect high power loads based on battery SOC via another device (such as a Smart Battery Protect or a large DC relay/contactor) or by wiring it to the remote on/off terminals on an inverter/device (if they have remote on/off terminals).

Thanks Mark

My wife currently has the camper 4000km from home on her own & she is having issues.

When the batteries get to about 50-60% they will not accept charge from the tow vehicle through the 40amp charger.

To get them to take a charge while tow vehicle is running she has been disconnecting one battery & then reconnecting it and the charger starts again. If she changes theSpc relay setting to 20/40% could that help??!

Or any other ideas?

It is rather difficult to do much diagnosing via intermittent communications at this distance.
