Hi. Can anyone give me an idiots guide on how to get my multiplus 24/5000 to tell my generator to kick in when battery is low and stop when charged please?
A few more details will be required.
What sort of generator do you have? Does it have remote start and how is it meant to be wired?
The multiplus has relay outputs that can be configured in VE.configure with a mk.3 device or a GX device.
Unfortunately there are multiple ways this can work, so to give you a simple answer will need more information first.

Depends what other kit you might have, and running a generator until batts are "full" needs some consideration too to get best value from your fuel.
