Heip on battery

Can somebody please help me in deciphering the attached charging curves of a Chinese made deep cycle sealed battery. The battery sellers who are reputable by the way are not helping much.

Hi @mtadao ,

When we start charging discharged battery with constant constant current constant voltage (CCCV) method, the battery voltage starts rising gradually as it is accepting charge.

When it reaches to peak voltage (uppermost line which becomes flat) the charge accepting capacity of battery reduces and the accepting current tends to drop.

So initially current has flat line and when voltage reaches to max, current starts to fall and voltage has flat line.

Following document is from one of the lead acid battery manufacturers and might give details insight.

Thanks, Great information there. From those curves, what is the current when the battery is fully fully charged, voltage when at 50% SOC? The battery is 200AH.

Q: what is the current when the battery is fully fully charged?

A: from graph it is around 0.005C to 0.01C, for 200Ah it should be around 1A.

Q: voltage when at 50% SOC?

A: for lead acid it is around 12.05V
