DC DC Converter 24/48 2.5A output 4.5A . help

I connected the orion 24/48 120w 2.5A converter to an inverter. But when measuring the current I have 4.5A at the output of the converter. The converter is specified as 2.5A. I set it to 48V, 120W. Battery 24V 120AH. What could be the reason, defekt or is it normal?

Question is unclear. You mention you've set the charger to 48V, but you have a 24V battery? And you mention you have the Orion connected to an inverter? How? Please post a schematic of your setup and include your point of measurement where you've seen the 4.5A

This is not a charger. I'm talking about dc dc converter from 24v to 48v. Measured at the output of the dc dc converter. connected to an inverter for the house network
