My BMV 712 shows more than the 40 AMPS that the DC charger should be allowing. I see 80 AMPS. I have disconnected the charging solenoid so that the alternator does not charge the coach batteries. Do I have this wired correctly?

Connection looks ok to me. Are you using an alternative shunt or the Victron standard one? Do you have settings 65 (Shunt Current) and 66 (Shunt Voltage) set per the shunt you are using? I am interested in doing the same as you and also using the relay to achieve a target SOC for Lithium battery storage.
