Can a BMV-700 battery monitor be used with the shunt circuit card from a BMV-600?

Run into an issue where my shop has had to change out a BMV-600. Tried using a BMV-600s, and a BMV-700. I thought the circuit cards were the same and could re-use them, but I was wrong. Just want to verify that the new cards need to be used.
