Difference between Smart Solar 250/100 and 150/100

Why would one choose a 250/100 mppt as to the 150/100 mppt if you do Solar Applications?

The first number describes the maximum open circuit Voltage that the solar array can present to the MPPT controller. The higher array Voltage means that you can have more PV modules in series.
Higher PV array Voltages are useful if there is a long cable run between the PV array and the MPPT controller. The higher Voltage means lower current for the same amount of PV power. Lower current means less cable loss.

The second number describes the maximum battery charge current that the MPPT can provide to the battery. In both cases 100A is possible which translates to ~1.2KW of charge power on a 12V battery, ~2.4KW to a 24V battery or ~4.8KW to a 48V battery.
