Smart Sense connection with existing shunt

I have 2 existing 75/15 MPPT controllers and a BMV 702 , I am fitting a Smart Sense . I have an existing shunt and my intention is to install the -v connection line before the shunt goes to the battery and not on the battery terminal . Is this correct?

Hi @Lucy Laika If you are referring to the Smart Battery Sense or indeed any load for that matter, you are correct as the shunt can only measure what flows through it.
